We are happy to be hosting our Specialty in Memphis, Tennessee which is known for its southern hospitality, rock n' roll, Elvis (and Graceland), and their yummy barbeque on October 9th through 13th. As in previous years, it will be a designated specialty held in conjunction with the Tupelo Kennel Club on Saturday, October 11, 2008 at the Agricenter International in Memphis. On Sunday, October 12, at the same site, APONC will support the entry with Tupelo KC as well. This is a lovely site with outdoor rings and much to offer with the annual "Showcase of Dogs" the Tupelo Kennel Club puts on and activities for all. We had hoped that all four shows would
be held at the Agricenter site as in the past, but we have been
advised that this year We are very happy to report that USDAA agility has been added to the schedule for Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Originally, there was not going to be any agility so we hope some of you will be able to take advantage of this. Our host hotel will be the very conveniently located and reasonably priced Comfort Inn & Suites Hotel, located only a half-mile down the street from the Agricenter in Germantown. You will be able to make reservations at the Comfort Inn by going to the HOST HOTEL page posted on this site. Please make your reservations as soon as possible so that you can secure your accommodations at our special group rate and reserve the type of room that you prefer. RV parking will be available at the Memphis Agricenter showgrounds, and is quite conveniently located to the show rings. Even though the Agricenter shows are Saturday and Sunday, we have been assured that parking may be requested there on Thursday and Friday as well. In the past, those without RV's have still been able to reserve spaces in this area.
Further activities for the weekend include a judges' seminar, the annual APONC General Membership meeting and a special Herding event where you will have the opportunity to have your PON's herding instinct tested! Please check out the EVENTS schedule posted on this site for further information about the activities scheduled this weekend.. The specialty packet will be mailed out in the near future. It will include reservation forms for the banquet, silent auction and raffle information, and more. If you are not a current member of APONC, you can download a copy of the packet in PDF form by going to the OTHER INFO page of this website.

Greater Shelby Kennel Club's all-breed shows, rally, and obedience
will be held at the MultiPurpose Arena in Southaven, MS on Thursday,
October 9th and Friday, October 10th. This site is located approximately
30 minutes from our Memphis show site and host hotel. 
The
APONC Annual Awards Banquet promises to be one highlight of the
weekend, and is scheduled for the evening of Saturday, October
11. It will be held at a popular restaurant with the locals called
"The Butcher Shop", which is located adjacent to the
Agricenter. We have reserved a private room which will comfortably
accommodate our group, and guests will be able to order from
the special banquet menu. We will also hold our auction and raffle
there so be sure to check out all the great items we have available.
